Commentary
It has been TWO weeks (at time of writing) since i've put this belated birthday piece on the air and hooooo boy look at those fucking numbers...
ANYWAYS, let's finally talk about this piece which definitely contends as an absolute banger even if i ignore those metrics above. Starting with the huge main panel with Mizuki tied up, some of the "gifts" in the background she gets are based on things that i actually use in my jorking sessions. The bluetooth dildo is almost 1:1 with the irl counterpart, and the bottles of lube at the bottom are just the cheap water-based ones that i use alongside the wireless trinket. I caged her up in this piece because i didn't feel like drawing a penis, that's pretty much it. I've also thrown in a crudely-drawn pair of scissors for safety reasons, definitely not gonna be used for some impromptu blade play. :)
This obra has been in the works a few days after her birthday card for this year got leaked weeks ahead of schedule which definitely inspired the stylization of this piece. However, the artstyle between the main "present" panel and the "snapshot" panels by the side were actually swapped from each other, with the snapshots having the colors of the birthday card and the present panel intended to look like a photo taken with the flash on.
I tried coloring in the snapshots and i had so much trouble trying to keep those three things consistent with the original card's flat-colored style. Having to do this on a laptop screen that doesn't have enough color range to display Colors Very Close To White But Are Very Obviously Not White didn't help much so i just decided to make the main "present" panel the singular thing following the original card's colors. The colors for her hair and bowtie were color-dropped straight from the original, but i had to concoct a palette for her skin since i do wonder what a darker skin color would look like in that style and i gotta say: i'm so fucking glad it turned out as well as it did :)
